Build a Dutch Golden Age

From a single market stall to a global trading company · produce, scale, speculate on the tulip market, and automate it all. An idle game of merchant ambition.

Amsterdam, the Dutch Golden Age. You begin with one market stall and a few guilders.
Stack goods → sell at the market → reinvest. Grow a single stall into a VOC merchant prince.
How far will your house rise?
An idle / incremental trading game set in the Dutch Golden Age. Your fortune grows while you play · and keeps growing while you're away. The skill is in what you reinvest in and when you sell, not in fast clicking.
Your buildings produce goods → goods stack in your warehouse → Sell at Market turns them into guilders → you buy more buildings. Every building hits milestones (×2 production at 10, 25, 50, 100, 150… owned), so there's always a next target.
Prices rise and fall on their own. Watch the market panel for events: ride a Tulip Mania and sell at the peak, cash in on a Trade Festival, or weather an Embargo. Later eras unlock rarer events · East India Windfalls, Golden Ages, even Plague Years to survive.
Liquidate a run to earn Reputation (a permanent production boost). Spend Reputation to Charter the VOC for shares · a much bigger multiplier that also unlocks new eras of buildings. Reach 1,000 shares and you can Retire into Legacy, the deepest reset of all.
Retiring grants Legacy points. Spend them in the Founder's Tree on perks like Old Money (start each run pre-built), Patent of Trade (+production), Deep Holds (offline earnings), Storm Glass (more events) and Admiralty Ties (more shares). Two more · Cartographer's Guild and Bourse Charter · unlock as you retire more. You can Respec for free anytime, so your build is a living choice, not a one-way street.
Every week a rotating Doctrine favours a different perk line (e.g. "Mercantile Boom" rewards Patent levels). Respec to lean into the week's Doctrine for an edge. The best build changes week to week.
Four eras unlock as you progress, each adding new buildings · from market stalls to World Powers. Overseers (bought with Reputation) auto-buy a building for you. Trade Focus gives +25% to one building line and is free to switch.
A weekly ladder of legendary merchants to out-earn. Note: these are in-game benchmarks (pacing rivals), not live players · a real online leaderboard of actual humans is planned for a future release.
The Stats screen tracks your fastest VOC cycle, biggest single sale, lifetime earnings and more · plus a live graph of your income per second.
Make your dynasty yours: a custom crest, house name (shown on your Hall row), and market themes. Cosmetics are identity only · they never affect production or your place in the Hall. The game will never sell power or a ranking advantage.
You keep earning while the tab is closed (come back for a "welcome back" summary). Your game saves locally in your browser; you can export / import a save from Manage to move it between devices.
